AT OUR HOUSE TODAY

Yes at our house this is what it looks like today. The storm has hit and started with a bang.
The freezing rain now it's sleeting and later is to come snow and sleet mixture.
Yes looks like we are home and not going anywhere for the next couple days....bummer!
At least everyone is safe and warm.
But I'm gonna try to make the best of it and do some crafting and blog.
Above on the left are trees in front of mom and dad's house and on the right is
a shot of our porch and the ice we've gathered so far lol

Mom and dad's house taken from my front door, Yes I love living this close to them.
And just another shot of one of my chairs on the porch.
btw....Tyler thinks this is all so cool and keeps trying to get outside when we have the door
open taking pictures. LOL I keep telling him this isn't play weather.

WEDDING CAKES

The brides cake was just yummy, vanilla on top and chocolate on bottom.

The grooms cake was strawberry with actuall milk chocolate melted and
poured over the cake (at least that's what it seemed to be) tasted like chocolate covered strawberries.

ALTERED WEDDING ITEMS

Here are some wedding bubbles we made some changes to for Britt's wedding.
We used metalic markers and colored the dots in their colors then placed the
ribbon around the top and added the pearls.

This is her keepsake garder. I have sore fingers from sewing all this stuff on
this garder but the finished product is well worth it.

And her guest book. It was plain white so I took some wide
lace ribbon, ran it around the outside of the book then put ribbon in their
colors on for added measure. Add a bow and some dangley hearts
and it's ready to go.

CREATIVE CANDLES

Here is a pic of the centerpiece my oldest daughter (Destiney) and I created for my
youngest daughter (Brittanie's) wedding.
We had the best time figuring this out and making it!

CREATIVE CANDLES

These are large candles we put their names and date of wedding on one side and
Always and Forever on the other side. Then a little ribbon and a few sparkleys and
they're ready to go.

On these side candles I put their favorite picture on ones side and left
the other side blank

TRASH TO TREASURE BANGLE BRACELETS

Ever wish you could wear bangle bracelets but could never find any to fit?
I think I have the solution for you. While crafting items for my daughters wedding I found
I was left with several of these plastic rings from the double sided tape we used.
So while just messing around I just slipped them over my hand onto my wrist until I finished
cleaning our mess. Then while slipping them off my wrist to throw away I thought to myself.
Self.......why couldn't you make some bangle bracelets out of these?
So I sat down and started playing and below is what I came up with.

First I went through my papers and found some scraps I really liked.
Then just put the paper on the edge of my desk and tore strips approx. 1/2 inch in width.
I tore several to make sure there were enough to go all around the ring.

Now you're going to take all the strips and cover the backs of them one at a time with decoupage finish, then wrap
them around the ring. This takes some time and patience but if I can do it I know you can.

Just pic the color scheme you want and go at it. I promise you it's worth the time it will take and it's really
not that time consuming. I wanted black and white bracelets so they would go with anything so that was
my theme. I picked out three different papers in black and white and to my amazement it worked really well.

Then I used my finger and put two layers of decoupage on the outside of the paper.
Make sure to cover inside the ring along with the edges and outside to seal it well.
And here they are finished! I'm so proud of these and will be doing more.
I hope you enjoyed my idea and will try it for yourself.
